NEED TO KNOW
Register on our platform.
You should have received an email from us inviting you to register at the conference. Use the link in the mail to sign up and create your speaker profile. In case you did not receive the mail, or if you want to use a different email address, you can also register via the button below and manually select “speaker ticket”.
Make sure to use this profile to log in on the day of the event!
Check your emails. Shortly before the event we will send you an email with a link to the backstage/ broadcast where your presentation will take place. Always remember to check your spam folder.
The broadcast will be streamed via the provider StreamYard. Further down this page you will find detailed text and video instructions on how to use StreamYard. ⬇️
Join our dry runs. We are hosting several test runs so that you can practice your stage performance. If you have not given a presentation on hopin/Streamyard yet, it is mandatory that you attend! We want to make sure that your talk is trouble-free and that you look great on our event! These are the dates:
We use the providers hopin and StreamYard. These platforms has been optimized for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Unfortunately, no other browsers can be used. For best functionality and performance, we recommend Google Chrome.
MUST DO’S | TECHNICAL CHECKS BEFORE THE EVENT
Perform a stream test. Use the following tool from hopin to check your video and streaming quality:
Broadcasts via StreamYard will be recorded. For this purpose, give your browser the permissions for your camera and for screen recording.
We recommend using earbuds or headphones to prevent background noise and audio echoes.
Have you checked your background? StreamYard does not provide virtual backgrounds. So be sure to stay in an environment where you feel comfortable.
Do you want to share slides, images or videos during your presentation? Then follow these instructions:
TEXT INSTRUCTION | FOR A SMOOTH STAGE PERFORMANCE
1. We will provide you with the stage link before the show. Click the link and you’ll be taken to the broadcast studio.
2. Allow StreamYard to access your camera and mic. Make sure you have the correct camera and mic selected.
3. Enter a display name and your pronouns (if you like). Then enter the studio.
4. Then you’ll be taken to the stage. This is how it looks:
5. We will be informed that you’ve arrived. And no worries: You won’t be part of the broadcast until we decide to add you in. The page will update to let you know when you’ve been added. Then everyone will be able to see and hear you. This is your time to shine!
This is what you need to know about the green highlights (second screenshot):
I. The “LIVE” symbole indicates that the broadcast has already started. This means that everything you are currently seeing in the stream will also be shown to the live audience at the event.
II. In the toolbar below, click on the “Share” icon if you want to share slides, images, videos, etc. (see the instructions). Attention: By clicking on the “Return” button you will leave the broadcast!
III. Use the “Private chat” to communicate with us! Under “Comments” you will find all comments and questions of your audience.
During your presentation, you can encourage the audience to use the chat to show engagement, but also to ask questions to you. Let the audience know that your stage is a safe space for questions! Q&A can be as long as there is time left in your 30 min time slot. Our stage supervisors will take you off stage a couple of minutes before it’s the next speakers turn.
